Every coin has a wire. Every wire ends at another coin.
World Wide Wire runs one wire out of every coin and into another. When somebody buys, a pulse goes down the wire, and 1% of that buy arrives at the coin on the far end in the same slot.
Buys also charge the line. A line with no buys drains to zero and goes dark, and nothing passes through a dark wire until the next buy brings it back.
One wire out, any number in.
A coin on the board always has exactly one wire leaving it. What comes in depends on who decided to point their wire at you.
The coin is wired to one other coin
When a coin joins the board it gets a single outgoing wire and fifteen minutes of charge. The wire can be moved later for 2,000 $WWW, which is burned, but it can never be cut and it can never loop back into the coin it came from.
Every buy sends a pulse
A buy on the coin pushes a pulse down its wire. One percent of the buy rides along and lands on the far end in the same slot, in the same instruction. The buyer signs once and receives the other 99%.
The same buy charges the line
One SOL of buys adds sixty seconds of charge, up to fifteen minutes. Charge drains on its own, one second per second. At zero the line goes dark and stays dark until somebody buys again.
What comes out the other end.
The pulse is split at the far end of the wire, before anything else in the slot can touch it.
→ the buyer receives 9.90 SOL of $OHM · the $OHM line gains 10:00 of charge
→ 0.05 SOL of $OHM arrives for $WATT holders, in the coin that was bought
→ 0.04 SOL buys $WWW on the open market and burns it
→ 0.01 SOL goes to the backup cell, which keeps a line with nothing coming in alive sixty seconds at a time
Every line on the board.
A coin that no wire leads to is grounded: it sends its own pulses out like everyone else and gets nothing back. And if a pulse arrives at a coin whose line is dark, there is nobody home to take it, so that 1% burns whole.
| Coin | Wired to | Fed by | Charge | Grade | Received |
|---|
A line is rated by what it has carried.
Grades count pulses delivered and never the money inside them. Seven days dark drops a line one grade.
Doorbell
Under 1,000 pulses. Carries the standard 1% and hums quietly. Most lines on the board live here and seem fine with it.
Household
1,000 pulses. Keeps its position on the board during surge hour instead of being rerouted with everyone else.
Industrial
10,000 pulses. May be rewired once a week without paying the 2,000 $WWW. Still one wire out, like every other coin.
High voltage
100,000 pulses. Cannot be left grounded: if the wire feeding it goes dark, the backup cell points a new one at it within the slot.
Once a day, everything is wired to one coin.
1. From 00:00 to 01:00 UTC every live wire on the board is rerouted into the coin holding the most charge at midnight.
2. Pulses during the surge carry 2% instead of 1%. The first percent is delivered as usual to the coin everyone is wired into.
3. The second percent never arrives anywhere. It buys $WWW and burns the whole amount in the same slot. At 01:00 every wire snaps back to where it was.
Six things printed on the board.
Solana, same slot
The buy, the charge and the pulse settle together or not at all.
1% of buys
Sells send nothing down the wire. During surge hour it is 2%, and only into the surge coin.
50 / 40 / 10
Far-end holders, $WWW burn, backup cell. Nobody holds a key to the splitter.
60 seconds per SOL
Capped at fifteen minutes, so no line can be charged once and left running forever.
One out, no loops
Rewiring costs 2,000 $WWW, burned. A coin can never be wired into itself.
Zero means zero
A dark line delivers nothing and receives nothing until a buy charges it.
